Adelaide Hills

Rolling vineyards, natural bushland and wooded valleys are all hallmarks of the Adelaide Hills.   A 20-minute drive from the CBD, the region is home to several major attractions, including Warrawong Sanctuary, Cleland Wildlife Park, the National Motor Museum, Mount Lofty Summit and the historic German town of Handorf.  The Adelaide Hills is also famous for its cool climate wines and fresh produce and there are plenty of quality restaurants and pubs to choose from.  B&B accommodation is plentiful.

Barossa Valley

Widely known as one of Australia’s, if not one of the world’s, most important wine regions, the Barossa is also rich in heritage and local culture.  More than 160 years after European settlement, its history continues to enrich the thriving community, which is easily found in many museums, historical places, festivals and natural wonders.  The countryside of rounded hills and sweeping valleys changes with every season.   Trails, reserves and forests reveal park-like landscapes and quiet bushland.  Of course, premium wines (including world-famous Barossa Shiraz and Eden Valley Riesling), regional produce and food traditions, and an array of great dining provide a gastronomic experience second to none.

Kangaroo Island

Here is an island seven times the size of Singapore, literally crawling with wildlife. The koalas aren't being cuddled - they're relaxing at home in native trees. The seals aren't performing - they're lazing beside you on the beach. There are echidnas, platypus, goannas, wallabies and kangaroos. All thriving. All mesmerising.  And more than one-third of the Island is National or Conservation Park.  Of course, there's the wine and food. Take a drive and collect wine, cheeses, oysters and lobsters and indulge on a secluded beach.
